What Dreams May Come

Dreams, what are they, what do they mean, why do we care?

Dream 2-22-06

OK, so I haven't been so good about blogging my dreams. It's kinda hard because I also keep a dream journal. Well, anyway, here's the latest.

This dream started with me making arrangement to meet a guy I'd met. I don't think I knew him very well but felt comfortable meeting up with him. We made a plan, and I remember saying something like, "I'll be over here and you can come meet me there".

The next thing I knew, I was sitting by the window in what I think was a McDonalds, (I know, really high class). I was actually sitting in a corner, facing a window another window to my right. I also remember the windows stretching (how does a window stretch anyway) from the floor to the ceiling. I looked out of the window ahead of me and say the guy I'd arranged to meet walking down the street toward me.

As he walked toward me, I mused about how he would actually meet up with me. I wondered if he'd not see me (or maybe he would see me) and walk on by, or if he'd walk up to the door of the restaurant without actually seeing me first knowing that this was the place where we were scheduled to meet. But he did something that totally surprised me.

He walked right up to the window in front of me and pressed his face against the glass, to make a funny face. In the midst of doing that, he stumbled through where the glass was supposed to be and laughed at his own misstep. I looked at him in amazement (you'd be amazed too if you just saw someone walk through a window) and felt myself softening by his attempts at amusement.

The next thing I remember about this dream was standing outside and leaning against him as he stood behind me. We were looking at the scenery. I said something to him and he bent his head low to catch what I was saying. He seemed really tall. But maybe he was just standing on something.

Seems like this dream deals with the barriers I've created around myself. Maybe the person who makes it in will have to be...somewhat unconventional.
